James "JD" Douglas

James Harley “J. D.” Douglas, 75, of Berea died suddenly at his residence Monday, November 28, 2022 of an apparent heart attack. J.D. was a Connersville, Indiana native born July 10, 1948 son of the late Steve and Geneva Brewer Douglas, retired Bluegrass Army Depot ammo maintenance supervisor with 38 years of service and member of the Baptist Faith. After retirement he spent his time farming and helping his neighbors. J.D. never met a stranger and everyone he met loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years Patricia Gregory Douglas; children James Harold Douglas (Teresa), Joyce Johnson, Steve Douglas (Sharon), Crystal Owens, April Dawn Douglas, Teresa Douglas (Robert); grandchildren Derrick Rhodus, Jacob Lainhart, Dakota Farthing, Kaydy Hatton, Dahlia Douglas; great-granddaughter Lilly Rhodus; sisters Suzie Rose (Virgil), Patsy Lear (Glendon), Sandy Baldwin; mother-in-law Mayme Lamb Gregory; as well as numerous relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law Gillis Gregory.

Funeral Service 1:00 PM Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Reppert Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Bro. Kenny Davis, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation 11:00 AM until service time. Pallbearers will be Crystal Owens, Frank Himes, Tony Rose, James Harold, Jimmy Denham, Matt Alexander.
